Product Description: 5KVA 13HP Petrol Engine 220V 
Application: Supplying of electricity in areas where electricity is not available or in the event of a power failure. It is a very useful machine but it is important to use the correct machine for the application.
Safety: This product should not be operated unless proper training has been supplied to the person operating the equipment.Personal protection gear includes: goggels, steel-cap boots, gloves, ear plugs, dust mask, hard-hat.
Starting:
  • Turn petrol on
  • Ensure control lever is in neutral position before starting.
  • Open choke (butterfly closes to close off air flow)
  • Pull recoil 1/3 of way twice
  • Pull recoil full way until starts (usually 2 pulls)
  • Close choke (butterfly opens the air flow)
  • Increase the revs with the control lever before moving the machine forward or backwards 
Running machine: Before operating the machine always check the oil levels and that air filter is clean. Air filters should be cleaned daily. Top up with multigrade oil if needed. Test the voltage, and amps of the machine regularly to prevent damage to appliance/tools. Ensure that the power supply is adequate for the application. Do not allow overloading of generators, Generators should be run in well ventilated areas.
Do's and Donts: Do not run the generator without a recoil starter. Do not overload the machine or increase the revs on the machine, 3000rpm and 50Hz is recommended. Make sure the fan on the alternator is always protected. Check overload switch is operational.
Shutting Down: Turn On/Off switch off. Close  fuel line.
Re-fueling:
  • Ensure petrol switch is off before refuelling.
  • Machine may not be running whilst refueling.
  • Do not smoke or use a cell phone whilst refueling.
  • Remove fuel cap and place in clean dry area within reach of the machine.
  • Pour the fuel into the tank.
  • Replace fuel cap and move fuel container.
  • Do not place any plastice bags around the fuel cap as this will close the breather hole in the cap. 

 

Maintanance Checklist:

  1. Clean machine (make sure no water goes into alternator)
  2. Drain oil and replace (20w50)
  3. Clean / replace spark plug
  4. Clean / replace air filter
  5. Check all bolts and nuts on machine
  6. Listen for bearing noises on machine
  7. Check the springs on governor are in place
  8. Clean carburetor and jets
  9. Check starter coil and rope
  10. Set revs p.m. 3000 rpm (very important)
  11. Check volts (must be 220v) 

Testing Equipment Before Hire:

  • The equipment must be clean and must have a service tag attached to ensure that the workshop completed the standard service before returning the asset to the floor.
  • The equipment must be taken to the testing station applicable where you will test the machine in front of the customer whislt demonstrating the operation of the asset to the customer.
  • Ensure that the required safety attire is worn before beginning the equipment test and instruction to the customer and ensure that the customer is in a safe location.
  • Start the equipment as per the above instruction.
  • Demonstrate the operation of the equipment as per the operating instructions above.
  • Shut the equipment down.
  • The customer must sign that he has recieved training.
